IRS Notice LT16 states, "Your account has been assigned for enforcement action - Please call us about your unpaid taxes". Notice LT16 informs you that the IRS has assigned your case to enforced collection action. This could mean that they are sending the case to a local revenue officer who will contact you in person. It could also mean you will continue to be contacted by the IRS Automated Collections Service Center. The IRS uses Notice LT16A to inform you that they plan to seize your property unless you act.
Steps in Response to Notice LT16:
You should not call the IRS (as they request) until you are ready. They will ask you a lot of uncomfortable personal questions & it's best to be well prepared before-hand. Usually, this requires revealing your current financial situation with Forms 433A or 433F.
Required Forms
These forms can be difficult to complete and if they are not completed correctly the IRS will continue to collect against your property & money.
Fortunately, TaxHelp has Webinars which show you exactly how to complete these forms for your benefit & protection while carefully disclosing the items necessary to get a payment plan.
