IRS Letter 3228 is entitled, "Reminder Notice" and is used to remind you of past due taxes. This notice indicates that seizure of your property is not imminent & is very similar to Notice CP71. Your situation is not extremely urgent but is a constant reminder of the problem.
Respond to Letter 3228
The IRS has probably already sent you a Notice of Intent to Levy so they could seize your assets & wages at any time. But, you still have time to resolve this problem.
As explained in the Prep Steps, we'll have to gather the IRS file and your records to determine if you owe the tax. Come in so we can investigate your case! If you don't owe it, we'll prepare all the documents to reduce or eliminate the tax.
If you do owe it (or some portion) then we advocate for your best interests & explore ALL the options to reduce, eliminate or mitigate the effects of this tax bill.
It is likely you will have to send the IRS all the information required by Form 433A or Form 433F. This will take a lot of time & effort.
